Charles C. Teachout, of Gregory, Michigan, age 68, passed away at home on Tuesday, February 7, 2017. He was born on August 14, 1948, in Stockbridge, MI, the son of Claude and Marion (Hadley) Teachout. He had lived in the area all of his life and was a veteran of the United States Air Force, being honorably discharged in 1970. Starting in 1984 he worked for Read Lumber in Pinckney which became the Lakeland ACE Hardware where he worked as a manager until 2016. He enjoyed airplanes, building his own home, throwing tomahawks with his son, and gardening.
On July 27, 1973, he married Marjory M. Butler in Howell, and she survives. Also surviving are four children: Adam (Claire) Snider of Georgia, Allen (Carmela) Snider of Florida, Melissa (Troy) Laird of Jackson, and Gregory (Lizzy Schultz) Teachout of Gregory; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; his siblings: Joyce Harr of Grass Lake, Reta Teachout of Gregory, Leo (Nancy) Teachout of Tecumseh, Carl (Maxine) Teachout of Cheboygan, and Diane Annabel of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a niece, Jennifer Lee Teachout.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at the Unadilla Township Hall in Gregory (the former Howlett Elementary School). In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family. Arrangements by Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge.
