Margaret Finch King
Chelsea, Michigan (formerly of Saline)
Margaret King, age 90, passed peacefully at home under the care of hospice, February 9, 2017. Her passing was a testament to the way she lived her life, with grace, dignity, and the quiet assurance of her deep faith. Her room was filled with the warmth of sunshine, flowers, and music. She was surrounded with the loving care of family, her precious kitties Mickey and Minnie who would not leave her side, and dear friend/caregiver, Pam Ricks.
Margaret was born March 2, 1926 in Saline, MI to Harry Finch and Gertrude Rhoades Finch. She graduated from Saline High School, class of 1943 and completed an Associates Degree in Business at the Ann Arbor Secretarial School while working at the Draft Board in Ann Arbor during WW II. She married Thomas J. King of Monarch, Wyoming on Aug. 31, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Saline. They moved to Denver, Colorado where Tom completed his BS degree in Business/Accounting at the University of Denver. They moved to Sheridan following his graduation and returned to Saline in 1951.
Margaret worked as a secretary at the VA Hospital, Ann Arbor, Hoover Universal and Manufacturers Bank, Saline. She was a person of integrity with a strong work ethic, but her first priority was always her family and her church. Margaret was a devoted wife and mother. She loved being at home. She was a wonderful cook, and had a passion for reading, music, theater, genealogy, and her needlework. She loved to garden and she loved to travel. Her travels were always filled with fun adventures, history lessons, and taking the roads less traveled whenever possible.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Doane of Saline, her son David King (Cherrie Cook King), daughters Kathy, Marjorie, Roseanne, granddaughters Kacey King Reynolds (Jared), Amy Cook Barnaby (Tucker), and grandson Andrew Cook (Stacy), and great grandchildren Cannon, Tucker Jr., Campbell Barnaby, and Alexandria, Marshall, Cody Cook.
