Peggy Joy Geer
Of Dexter, Michigan
Age 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at her home. She was born on September 25, 1928 in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Ayers) Potts. Peggy had worked for the Dexter Post Office for 19 years, retiring in 1988. On September 23, 1951 she married Allen E. Geer in Ann Arbor and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2003. She enjoyed reading, neighborhood parties, and was a great cook. She was known as one of the best horse show moms and attended 26 Spring Round-Ups in her lifetime. Surviving are her children: Nancy Nagel of Dexter, Brian Geer of Dexter, Neil (Julianna) Geer of Chelsea, Frank Geer (Elaine Morris-Moxness) Dale City, VA, Kay (Gary) Conrad of Indiana, and Laura Ellwood of Dexter; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Potts of Kalkaka. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Mark Nagel, and a sister, Jean Potts. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea with Pastor Larry Courson officiating. Private interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Dexter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Arbor Hospice Foundation.
