My deepest sympathy to the Vandegrift family. Tom was like a 2nd father to me while Lorrie and I grew up together as the best of friends. He always had a smile and a hug for me at the many family gatherings at which I was so graciously welcomed over the years. He will be greatly missed. Much love to my "other" family as you grieve his loss.
