Mary L. Gauss

Mary L. Gauss, of Stockbridge, MI, age 83, passed away at her home on September 7, 2019. She was born in Stockbridge, MI on August 20, 1936 the daughter of Duwayne and Minnie (Beeman) Moffat. She is survived by three children, Randy (Peggy) Gauss of Dexter, Cathy (Jim) Carpenter of Dansville, and David Gauss of Stockbridge; grandchildren: Krysti (Mike) Bunce, Corey Gauss, Ryan (Julie) Carr, Heide Carpenter, Shelby (Brandon) Wilson, Davey Gauss, Stacey (John) Goldstein, Travis Gauss, Ronnie Elliott, Randy Elliott and Hailey Gauss; many great-grandchildren, also one sister-in-law, Sandy Moffat of AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Paul Gauss, one sister, Thelma Moffat, two brothers Paul and Jerry Moffat, and her loving companion of 35 years, Clark Knottingham.

Mary had lived in the Stockbridge area all of her life. She loved crocheting, reading books, and spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Stockbridge Community Outreach.

my mom called me today with this awful news , the tears come down my face I felt my heart break a piece too. I cannot feel the hurt and pain you are going thru now but I do know that of a mother /daughter an what you had with her was so special so if you a shoulder to cry or just a long talk i still i am here love always
