Jack L. Davidson

Jack L. Davidson, age 71, of Dexter, MI passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.  He was born July 16, 1948 in Cambridge, Ohio the son of Kenneth and Omeda (Hockenbraugh) Davidson.  On April 8, 1972, he married Sylvia J. (Schneider) at Salem Lutheran Church, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Sean Davidson and Kyle Davidson, both of Dexter, one sister-in-law, Linda Skrzypek of Dexter, and one brother-in-law, Robert (Carol) Schneider of Ann Arbor, as well as several nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who held a very special place in his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Patrick Skrzypek, and a sister-in-law, Nancy Schneider.

Jack graduated from Dexter High School and Eastern Michigan University and for many years owned and operated Davidson Sales and Maintenance.  Jack was a perfectionist and this showed in everything he did and owned, including his cherished 1949 Ford truck. Jack loved kids and would attend and support the sporting events and school activities of all the kids he knew.  He took great pride in being the "gum man", always enjoying the smiles of the kids who received a piece or "two". His passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives and hearts of those who knew him.  He will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ann Arbor, with Pastor Paul Jansen and Pastor Emeritus Douglas Hartley officiating.  Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and also at the church on Wednesday from noon until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church or "It's a Great Day to Be Alive".
