John Mitchell, Jr.
John joined the business in 1990 after graduating from Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science. He and his wife, Cindy, have made Chelsea their home.  They have four children, Wesley, Mason, Andrew, and Sophie.  John has served the Chelsea Lions Club, enjoying the role as Tail Twister. He also has coached boy’s soccer for several years. He has been on the Board of Directors for Inverness Country Club as well as Chelsea Fallen Heroes.  He loves John Deere Tractors, hunting, and fishing, and is a member of the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club.  He is also an avid fan of Chelsea High School Football. John is Owner/Manager of Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge.



Michael Mitchell
Michael returned to the family business in 2004.  He attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and Michigan State University. He and his wife, Stacey, live in the City of Chelsea with their two boys, Ryan, and Kyle. He has served as Vice President on the Board of Chelsea Recreation Department. He also coaches boy’s soccer and youth baseball, is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, as well as the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club, and is passionate about hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.  Most recently, he served three years on the Board of Directors for the Green Burial Council. He was the only licensed funeral director on the board and in the nation with a degree in Environmental Science. Michael is Owner/Manager of Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea.



Cindy Mitchell
Cindy is a registered nurse by degree, but has found her niche in the funeral home. She also volunteers in the schools with the kids, and has served on the Chelsea Education Foundation Board and the Crisis Team.



John Mitchell, Sr. and Gloria Mitchell
With more than 25 years of service and commitment to the Chelsea Community, John Sr. and Gloria Mitchell have retired.  John and Gloria are members of the First United Methodist Church. They have spent countless hours in the community serving Kiwanis, Rotary, the Chelsea Foundation, the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, the Chelsea United Way, the Chelsea Hospital Auxiliary, Timbertown, the Chelsea Depot Association, and Hospice of Michigan. Gloria was also named Citizen of the Year in 1997. Although they have retired, they continue to remain active in the community.  They enjoy their summers at North Lake and their winters in Boca Grande, Florida.



Stacey Mitchell and Maggie
Maggie is a member of Michael and Stacey Mitchell’s family. Stacey and Maggie are a Registered Therapy Dog Team (TD, Inc.). Maggie provides Pawsitive Comfort and is often at the funeral home during visitations or when requested. Stacey and Maggie completed their training and have been a Therapy Dog Team since April 2011. Maggie’s primary goal is to provide comfort, give a smile, and help someone have a better day. Maggie enjoys her work and is wonderful at helping children and adults.
