Peggy Mae Boles

Peggy Mae Boles passed away at her home in Chelsea, Michigan on Wednesday, November 16th, 2022 at the age of 77.

She was a wonderful and kind woman who was loved by all who met her. She married her love, the late Stephen Boles in 1981. They loved to take long walks and just be together.

Peggy was known for her spaghetti and for her fantastic desserts. She was notorious for her love and hate of "Democracy.”

She is survived by three children, Brian (Beth) Fargher, Wendy Fargher, and Jason (Jill) Fargher, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are her sisters, Barbera Peters and Julie Scott, one nephew, Jeff Peters, and one niece, Jill Covington. Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen, and her mother and father, Jay and Betty Willer. The impact she had on this world will last forever, and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Theodore J. "Ted" Addison

Theodore “Ted” John Addison October 14, 1937 – September 16, 2022

Theodore “Ted” John Addison, age 84, of Cameron Park, Calif, died peacefully on September 16, 2022. Ted was born in Jackson, Mich. on Oct 14, 1937 to Robert R. and Marian L. (Turk) Addison. After Ted graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Jackson, Mich. in 1955, he went on to study at St. Joseph’s College in Indiana. He later served proudly in the National Guard.

In 1957, Ted met Shirley Ellen Cavender at Clark Lake, Mich., and they were married in 1961 and went on to have two children, Dane Lawrence and Michelle “Shellie” Kathryn Cook.

Ted's professional career spanned many years in sales and marketing for various companies like Aeroquip in Mich. and Stemco, out of Texas, which brought him to Calif in 1979. Ted eventually owned his own travel agency in Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills. He loved the community and served on numerous committees and boards of directors for area Chamber of Commerce’s consisting of El Dorado County, Shingle Springs/Cameron Park, El Dorado Hills and Folsom. He thoroughly enjoyed mixing it up with the local community members and volunteering at events including the annual Folsom Pro Rodeo.

Ted was a sports fanatic. He spent his entire life cheering on the University of Michigan and Notre Dame athletics teams. His biggest struggle was who to cheer for when Michigan played Notre Dame, even as a Michigan football season ticket holder. He also enjoyed most of his time on the golf course. While these were his favorite pastimes, his greatest joy was sitting on the bleachers watching his granddaughter, Bailey, play softball and his grandson, Dalton, play football.

Ted was predeceased by his brother, Daniel R. and both parents. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife of 61 years, Shirley, and their two children, Dane and Shellie. As well as, son-in-law Sean Cook, grandchildren Bailey Addison and Dalton James Cook; nephew Steven T. Addison and wife Diane, great-nephew Stephen, great-nieces Ashley (Nobriga) and Alicia; and niece Danielle Addison. Also survived by nephew, Mike Cavender and nieces Kelly Russell, Tricia Prusakiewicz , Betsy Cavender and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Ted’s strength, unparalleled. Stubbornness, unprecedented. His uncanny sense of humor, priceless. Ted, you will forever be in our hearts and missed by many. We are all blessed to have known you in our different walks of life.

California services will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3111 Tierra de Dios Dr. El Dorado Hills, CA 95762.

Michigan services will be held Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea, 120 East Wesley Street, Jackson, MI 49201.

Sharon Hoffman

Sharon Hoffman, of Chelsea, passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at the age of 83.

Sharon was an incredible woman who left behind a loving family and a large legacy. She was born on June 6, 1939 in Leonard, MI to Nestor and Alberta Coulter. She was the fourth of ten children. She met the love of her life, Paul, at the Cleary College Snowflake Serenade Ball. They were inseparable and had 60 wonderful years together.

Sharon was an incredible cook, and everyone always asked her to bring one of her pies to many occasions. She loved Christmas and decorated with zeal each and every year. This was her favorite time of the year. She and Paul raised three girls together, Jennice, Janine, and Jamie. She passed on so many wonderful skills to ‘her girls’. They know how to cook, clean, craft, and love their children because of her guidance and love.

Sharon drove a school bus for a number of years and was always fondly remembered by those students who rode her bus. After retirement, she volunteered for a number of years at Faith in Action. She was strong in her faith and passed that along to her entire family.

Sharon was thrilled as her family grew to include sons-in-law and many grandchildren. She is survived by Jennice and Tom Moylan, Janine and Rick Hartman, Jamie and Jason Adkins. Her grandchildren include Connor and Nicole Hartman, Abigail Moylan, Jacob Hartman, Aleah Moylan, Madison Adkins, Hannah Adkins, Alexia Moylan, Charity Moylan, and Mahala Moylan. Her great-grandchildren include Damien, Caleb, William, Amaria and Kai.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Alberta and Nestor Coulter, in-laws, John and Evelyn Hoffman, siblings, Margery Hutton, Delores and Phillip Mielock, Helen and Robert Mallard, Robert Coulter, and Daniel Coulter. She is survived by siblings, Dorothy (LaVerne) Behnke, Charlie (Cheryl) Coulter, Cathy Strong, and Denise (Arlan) Winslow.

Visitation will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Rosary, a family eulogy, and an invitation to remember Sharon will start at 7:00 p.m. A funeral mass is scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Chelsea, followed by a graveside burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Mark Stone

Mark Stone, of Leslie, MI, died Friday, November 4, 2022 in Jackson, MI at the age of 60.

Mark was born to Robert Stone and Irma (Norton) on January 6, 1962 in Mason, MI. Mark was a huge mama’s boy and loved his mama. Mark married Linda Jean Cavin May 16, 1980 and had four children before the age of 21.

He was a devoted father who loved his children. He liked working on cars, camping, fishing, music, playing his guitar, chopping wood. He loved to laugh and tell jokes, and loved living in the country.

Mark is survived by his children, Mark Garold Stone, Karen Renee Stone, twins Jason Eric Stone and Julie Ann (Stone) Lawson, and his youngest son, Neil Stone; son-in-law, Jerry Dallas Lawson, Jr, daughter-in-law, Kristine Stone (Dwight); his grandchildren, Cassidy (18), Dakota (17), Kirsten (16), Haiden (16), Mark (15), Adrionna (15), Isiah (14), Nevaeh (13), Abbie (12), Cherokee (11), Rocky (7), Keygan (7), Novalee (6), Angel (6), Catalina (4), and Memphis (2); his brothers, Mitchell Stone and Jake Stone, sisters-in-law, Cathy Stone (Bartley), and Tina Stone (Stevens), lots of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews; his girlfriend, Vanyce Hall, her children, Jennifer Hall, Derek Gibson, Lacey Gibson, and all Vanyce’s grandchildren.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Irma Smith, his father, Robert Stone, step-father, Billy Joe Smith, sister, Janet Kay Stone, brothers, Rocky Stone, Rolland Stone, and Robert Stone, and granddaughter, Isabel Stone (age 5).

Mark will be remembered for his love of music, his beautiful voice, and his love for laughter and life.

His children will be doing something personal and private with Mark’s ashes and a Celebration of Life party will be announced at a later date.

Brandon J. Payeur

Brandon J. Payeur, age 46, of Jackson, MI, passed away on November 08, 2022. Brandon was born on October 16, 1976 in Ann Arbor, MI to James and Kimberly (Naebeck) Payeur.

Brandon worked for the Jackson County Road Commision. He enjoyed farming and he had a knack for running equipment, whether it was a John Deere tractor, his Kenworth W990L semi truck, or just plowing snow.

On May 26, 2017, he married SarahJane (Wilson), and she survives. Also surviving are four children, Dylan Payeur and Jacob Payeur, both of Chelsea, and Joshua Payeur and Jonathan Payeur, both of Jackson; his parents of Chelsea, a sister, Amanda Payeur of Chelsea, and brother, Greg (Murphy) Payeur of Saline; his grandmothers, Joan Payeur and Arlene Naebeck; two nieces and one nephew, as well as several aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arnold Naebeck and Benoit Payeur.

All services were private and burial has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Killarney Lutheran Camp, 1200 Chisholm Road, Onsted, MI 49265.

James M. Wheeler

Born: 7/30/1946 ~ Died: 11/06/2022

Jim passed peacefully at home after a short battle with Liver cancer.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Carlie (Dyer) Wiedman, and his father, Ray Wheeler, along with sister, Patricia Tunnell. 

Jim is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon (Wing) Wheeler, and two loving children, Ben (Rebecca) Wheeler of Dexter, and Sara (Brian) Pierce of Brighton; also grandsons, Grady Wheeler, and Curtis and Oliver Pierce. He is survived by siblings, Margaret Cosgray of Dexter, and Harvey (Eileen) Wheeler of Ovid, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Jim started life as a farm boy and transitioned into a football star playing in the 1963 undefeated Dexter team. He had a short attendance at Idaho State University on a football scholarship. Jim had a 41 year career with Cribley Well Drilling. In his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his friends, family, and energetic grandsons.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Dexter United Methodist Church, 7643 Huron River Drive, Dexter.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, as well as on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gordon Hall , make checks to Dexter Area Historical Society, or Dexter Community Schools Athletic Scholarship to cover the participation fees of students who cannot afford them, make checks payable to Dexter Community Schools.

Michael "Mike" Keith

Michael Green Keith, age 67, of Pleasant Lake, MI, passed away on October 21, 2022 at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Michael was born on February 21, 1955 in Guage, Kentucky to Edward and Georgia (Pitts) Keith. He married his love, Brenda May Smith, in Jackson, MI in 2002.

Michael loved the outdoors. and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports. He enjoyed watching sports of all types mostly NFL and College football. Woodworking was another great passion of his. He was always happy when building or making things for his loved ones.

Michael is survived by his wife, Brenda, and four children, Michael A. (Shantel Kemper) Keith, Tiffany (Deanna) Keith, Brian (Audra) Keith, and Pam Donnelly, -along with eight grandchildren and three great- grandchildren, one brother, Larry Keith. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Keith.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall Stockbridge, November 13, 2022 from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

Charles J. "Chuck" Spencer

Charles J. Spencer, age 83, of Marshall, MI, formerly of Chelsea, MI, passed away on October 29, 2022 at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Chuck was born on May 23, 1939 in Lansing, MI and was later adopted into the home of Charles and Jean (Rae) Spencer.

He served in the US Army, being discharged in 1964. He married Joyce (Romine), and she preceded him in death in 2016. He had lived in the Chelsea area for many years, where he raised his family at Ellsworth Lake. He worked for Dana Corporation, retiring in 1995 after 25 years. Lovingly known as "Pops," he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was an avid attendee to his granddaughter's sporting events. He was a dedicated, die hard fan of the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He enjoyed trying his luck at Keno and never missed a Fantasy 5 draw.

Chuck was always very social and will be remembered fondly by his friends at "Mike's Place," a group who brought him friendship and companionship at a time when he needed it most.

He is survived by one son, Raymond (Brittney) Spencer of Marshall, his grandchildren, Gracie, Mollie, Ashton, and Addison, and wife, Judy Barnes. In addition to his first wife, Joyce, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn, and son, Chuck.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea. Burial will follow at Washtenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 6-8 p.m., as well as on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Rosetta Mullins

Rosetta Mullins, age 95, of Gregory, MI, passed away on October 28, 2022 at her daughter's home.

Rosetta was born on December 27, 1926 in Alger, OH to Morgan and Molly (Howard) Whitaker. She moved to the Gregory area when she was nine years old. She was a long time member of the Gregory Family Tabernacle Church of God. She enjoyed listening to country music, gardening, and watching Westerns, especially John Wayne and Bonanza.

She married Kernie Mullins on September 11, 1945, and he preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by six children: Ernest (Priscella) Mullins of Stockbridge, Delores (Carl) Saylor of Gregory, Rose Mary Perry of Gregory, Duane Mullins of Florida, David (Susan) Mullins of Cohactah, MI, and John Mullins of Pleasant Lake; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, 11:00 a.m., at the Family Tabernacle Church of God, 15901 M-36, Pinckney, with Pastor Jeff Howard officiating. Burial will follow at North Waterloo Cemetery in Waterloo Twp.

The family will receive friends at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral home on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., as well as at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Deborah Lynn Costello

Deborah Lynn Costello, age 68, of Ann Arbor, MI, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born November 17, 1953 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of William and Patricia Earl.

Debbie was a strong woman who always put the needs of others before her own, even in her last days. She loved her daughters and grandchildren with all of her heart.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Costello; daughters, Patricia (Brian) Atkinson, Michelle Costello, and Amanda (Kevin) Callockio; grandchildren, Lindsey and Jared Atkinson, and Carter and Blake Callockio; mother, Patricia Earl; brothers, Brian Earl and Tom Earl; sister, Jill Jack; and many nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, William Earl, and brother, Robert Earl.

Per her request, cremation will take place and a small family gathering will occur at a later date.
