Penny Jean Trinkle, age 77, of Dexter, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2025.
She was born on January 14, 1948, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, the daughter of Van and Virginia Perry, one of ten siblings. She grew up in Dexter and graduated from Dexter High School.
On February 9, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, Douglas P. Trinkle. They built a life centered on faith and family and raised their three children—Tammie, Tony, and Chad—on their family farm in Dexter.
A devoted Christian, she read the Bible daily and found comfort in watching Christian television. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was dearly loved by her family and her many friends.
Penny is survived by her children, Tammie (Kevin) Christian and Tony (Julie) Trinkle; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Trinkle; eight grandchildren—Samantha (Kyle), Alissa (Kyle), Connor, Nick, Ryan, Emily, Nate, and Josh; and great-grandchildren, Maya and Caroline. She is also survived by her siblings: Bernard (Linda) Perry, Violet (Ken) Johnston, Mary Perry, Connie (John) Brigham, Lenny (Gary) Kircher, Joe (Paula) Perry, and Carol (Ron) Josephson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chad Trinkle, a brother, Louie Perry, and a sister, Kathy Perry.
The family will receive friends at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea, on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 and 6:00–8:00 p.m.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kurt Hutchens officiating.
