Patrick V. "Pat" Singer

Patrick Vincent “Pat” Singer passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026 at the age of 74 at his home in Gregory, MI.

Pat was born on November 19, 1951, in Stockbridge, MI, the third son of Morgan (Fred) and Josephine (Elaine Young) Singer. He was a lifelong Gregory resident and a 1970 graduate of Stockbridge High School. Pat then attended Ferris State University in 1970 before starting his working career with Solar Contract Carpet, where he remained for the next 46 years, retiring in 2017. It is a testament to his sense of loyalty and commitment to his work that he is so fondly remembered by the people he worked with.

On October 4, 1974, Pat married Julie (Millhouse), and they raised a large and loving family together. They remained dedicated to each other for 42 years until she passed in 2016.

After retirement, Pat became an avid gardener, and his mustard pickles and chili sauce are legendary. He was also an accomplished lifelong outdoorsman: he fished, hunted, camped, and boated, and shared all these activities with his children, grandchildren, and other family members, creating wonderful memories that are deeply cherished.

Pat had a reputation as a remarkable cook, whether at the kitchen stove, around the campfire, or the backyard grill. He was also a very accomplished and dedicated golfer. He was a member at Inverness Country Club and played in several area golf leagues. In competitions and outings, he was highly sought after as a partner because of his skills and history of winning. Best of all, he was just plain fun to play with.

For more than 20 years, he planned, organized, and coordinated an annual three-day golf outing for family members and friends at various golf resorts around Michigan. He was also largely responsible for the father/son/grandson fishing trip that has continued annually since 1988. Pat was the driving force behind the long-term success and popularity of these events.

Pat leaves behind an extensive and adoring family, including three children: Anji (Jim) Barbour of Gregory, Isaac (Dawn) Singer of Chelsea, and Erin (John) Trachet of Pinckney. His seven grandchildren were the light of his life: Autumn (John) and Austin Barbour; Jake, Ally, and Nick Singer; and Jack and Olivia Trachet. Pat will ever be in the memories of his three siblings: Joe (Lavonne) Singer, Nancy D’Amico, and Betty (Steve) Schaner, as well as his many nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and a lifetime of close friends. In addition to his parents and wife Julie, he was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick Singer, and his brother in-law, Frank D'Amico.

Pat loved and was loved deeply. It was the people and relationships in his life that defined him and will be his legacy.

A private family service will be held, and a public Celebration of Life is planned for May 9, 2026, at Inverness Country Club. Additional details will be announced at a later date.
