Charles Wayne "Chuck" Reed, age 76, of Chelsea, MI, passed away on April 15, 2026. He was born November 4, 1949 in Jackson, MI, the son of Robert and Gladys (Shook) Reed Sr.
Chuck proudly served in the US Airforce from 1970-1974. He worked as a Field Engineer at Eastman Kodak Company for 32 years. He worked for LaFontaine Chevrolet in Dexter at the time of his passing.
Chuck is survived by three daughters, Angela (Keith) Jennings of Pinckney, Kelly (Demonte) Reed of Ann Arbor, and Stacy (Lissus) Walker of Grand Blanc, MI; four grandchildren: Lissus Walker III “Tre", Liam Walker, Levi Walker, and Malakai Johnson-Walker; his siblings: Joyce (Bill Kuba), Jeffrey (Harold Mansperger), Billy (Janette) Reed, and Jodi Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gladys Reed; and a brother, Robert Reed Jr. Chuck also had a host of special nieces and nephews.
Chuck was a longstanding member of the Local VFW, serving alongside his father, Robert C. Reed, for over 20 years. Chuck was the Commander of the VFW Chelsea Chapter for the past 12 years. He was also Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 31 in Chelsea, MI. Chuck was also a member of the Washtenaw County Council of Veterans, located in Ann Arbor, MI.
Visitation will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Monday, April 20, 2026, from 5-7 p.m., as well as on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 10-11 a.m.
Funeral Services will be held at the Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor M. Adam Summers officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Herbert J. McKune American Legion Post #31. Arrangements by Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea.
