Deborah A. Horstik

Deborah Horstik, age 72, of Dexter Twp. MI, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away on August 28, 2026 at University Hospital in Ann Arbor.

Born on May 1, 1954 in Lansing, MI, Deborah was the daughter of Melvin and Doloris (Peterson) Parks. She married Hans Horstik in 1990 and together they enjoyed 36 years of marriage. Always known as a detail-oriented, “get things done” person, Deborah spent most of her career in marketing and sales for companies such as Arrow Electronics and Spartan International. She finished her career as Director of the R.E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing.

For fun, Deborah spent hours in the hot sun and soil building and tending her gardens. She loved watching and feeding the many birds that visited and also doted on her Labrador Retrievers.

In addition to her husband, Deborah is survived by her children: Wayne (Carrie) Conn of California; Christine (Kyle) Seslar of New York; Stephen Conn of Michigan; step-daughter Marika (Max) Brenes of North Carolina; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two siblings, Ron (Sharon) Parks of North Carolina, and Vickie (Rick) Kaiser of Michigan, and a sister-in-law, Wendy Parks of Lansing; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Gary Parks, a grandson, Johan Brenes and a niece Alicia Heinig.

A private service will be held at a later date.
