Charles D. Gipson, age 84, of Munith, MI, passed away on April 6, 2026 at his home in Henrietta Twp., MI.
Charles was born on May 17, 1941 in Salyersville, KY, the son of Dewey and Viola (Joseph) Gipson. He was raised in a very large family in Kentucky, one of 18 children, and started working very young in life. He moved to the Munith area, where he worked as a farm hand. He enjoyed working the land, planting and harvesting. He also loved yardwork and working on lawn mowers, fixing and selling them as a hobby. He was known to always have his can of Cherry Skoal on hand.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Alane Golden of Lima, OH, and Paula Eilerman of Lima, OH; a nephew, Chuck (Karrie) Emmons of Munith, and their kids, Alisha (Trevor) Wright of Michigan Center, and Charles Emmons Jr. of Munith. He had 17 siblings: his twin sister, Ann Marie Webb, Forest Green, James Gipson, Ruby Bailey, Virginia Perkins, Thelma Emmons, Carol Bailey, Lawrence Gipson, Sue Fletcher, Alane Gipson, Katie Gipson, Eva Gipson, Ronnie Gipson, Jimmy Gipson, Sara Jane Gipson, Betty Marie Gipson, and Sandy Williams.
Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
