Roy E. Carter

Roy Edward Carter, age 91, of Chelsea, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on December 31, 2025, surrounded by his loving daughters. Roy was born on October 27, 1934, in Summer Shade, Kentucky. After serving in the United States Navy, Roy moved to Michigan, where he met his loving wife of 64 years, Ann.

Roy dedicated 31 years of service to General Motors, where he worked as a committeeman. Following his retirement, he purchased and operated Lakeland Resort near Kentucky Lake, which he ran with his wife for 20 years. Roy will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose steady presence, strong work ethic, and sense of responsibility defined his life.

Roy was an avid outdoorsman with extensive knowledge of firearms and a notable skill in restoring and repairing rifles. Hunting and fishing were lifelong pursuits that brought him peace and solace in the great outdoors. He was also a gifted storyteller, known for recalling experiences with clarity and insight. His many stories were treasured by family and friends, and he will be remembered with respect and fondness by all who knew him.

Roy is survived by his three daughters, Kelly Fisher (Matthew), Jill Carter, and Kim Koenn (Matthew); his grandchildren, Charlie Fisher (Lauren), Kevin Fisher (Danielle), and Ryan Koenn; and his three great-grandchildren, Greycen, Colby, and Maizy Fisher.

Roy was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Robin Marie, and his wife, Ann.

Roy's family would like to thank Kennedy Care and Arbor Hospice for their service and support.

A private service will be held at a later date.
