Joseph M. "Joe" Keiser

Joseph Michael Keiser, age 65, passed away on June 27, 2026 at Trinity Health Ann Arbor. He was born on June 21, 1961, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Robert and Judith Keiser.

Joseph was brought home to Gregory, Michigan, where he grew up in the Chelsea area, working and helping on family farms. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1979.

Joseph spent his entire career working in maintenance. He began his career at Chelsea Retirement Center before later working for the University of Michigan, where he remained until his retirement.

Joseph was known as an adrenaline junkie who was always looking for his next thrill. He enjoyed racing dirt bikes, sailing, and maintaining his collection of motorcycles. He also loved playing horseshoes, shooting pool, competing in slow-pitch softball where he proudly batted a perfect 1.000, and spending time with family and friends over a game of euchre. Joe was known for his gardening and often gave away his vegetables to family and friends.

Joseph is survived by his children, Nikki (Tony) Tillman of Pinckney, Jake Keiser of Kalamazoo, and Leah (Josh) Bigg of Leslie; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Tyler, Ava, Grant, and Branson; the mother of his children, Diane Katon of Stockbridge; his siblings, Stephen (Sandra) Keiser of Gregory, Kenneth (Sandi) Keiser of Jackson, David (CeCe) Keiser of Chelsea, Karen (Eric) Keiser of Ann Arbor, and Sandra (Scott) Keiser of Munith; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Nicholas Keiser and Melissa Handloser.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., at the Mackinder-Glenn American Legion Post 510, 830 S. Clinton St., Stockbridge, MI 49285.
