Peter Scott McVittie, of Chelsea, MI, age 76, passed away on February 3, 2023 at the Chelsea Retirement Community.
Peter was born on July 21, 1946 in Pontiac, MI to Kenneth and Ann (Robertson) McVittie. He had lived in the Chelsea area for the past 50 years. He worked for AllState Insurance for over 48 years. On June 28, 1969, he married Patricia L. Tree, and she survives.
Peter attended Eastern Michigan University where he played golf and basketball. He was an All American Golfer at Eastern Michigan University, and he played golf his whole life. He traveled to golf courses all over the world with a rowdy group of best friends. His favorite course was always St. Andrews in Scotland.
He enjoyed fishing of any kind and spent many fishing trips to northern Ontario, Canada.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jake (Trina) McVittie of Stuart, FL, and Matt (Lindsey) McVittie of Gregory; six grandchildren; as well as one brother, Kenneth McVittie of East Flat Rock, North Carolina.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home.
