Ruthene (Ruth) Allen, age 88, of Chelsea, MI, passed away on February 22, 2021. Ruth was born April 11, 1932 in Swampton, KY, the daughter of Harris and Betty (Salyer) Arnett. On April 12, 1950, she married George Allen, whom preceded her in death, along with her granddaughter, Dani Allen.
Ruth lived most of her life in the Stockbridge area until moving to Chelsea in 2018. She was an avid gardener—growing both vegetables and flowers. She also loved music and had a beautiful voice.
She is survived by children, Debi (Jerry) Kunzelman, Angela (Phil) Hora, and George (Arlene) Allen; grandchildren, Shawn, Chad, Krysti, Corey, Nicki, Nathan, and Amanda; as well as 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Per Ruth’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her name to Saving Innocent Souls Animal Shelter of Jackson, MI. Arrangements by Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge.
