Dale Vaughn Kinch, age 93, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on August 29, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of family, education, community service and a well lived life.
Dale was born on December 26, 1932, to Russell and Beatrice (VanAntwerp) Kinch in Jackson, Michigan. A lifelong learner he dedicated much of his life to educating, mentoring, and encouraging others.
He graduated from Jackson High School in 1951. Dale graduated from Albion College, and later graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a double Master’s Degree in Arts and Administration.
Dale served as an educator for Michigan Center High School for 38 years, touching the lives of generations of students. His influence extended well beyond the classroom.
Dale was not only a teacher, but he also served as the men’s basketball coach, wrestling coach, and the women’s cheerleading coach. He was a mentor whose influence remained with his students long after graduation.
After his retirement, Dale continued to serve Michigan Center Schools volunteering his time helping to raise money for charities. His motto was “People helping people.” Dale was a member of the Michigan Center Rotary Club. He was also a member of the Jackson Eagles 612, Michigan Center Eagles 3634, as well as White Cloud Eagles.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Beatrice Kinch.
He is survived by his wife, Clarene (Treadway-Palmer) Kinch of 15 years. He is also survived by his daughters, DeeDee DuBose (Will Scott), Danielle (Kirk) Ford; his step- son James (Ruby) Chifane; his grandchildren: Stephen (Megan) Shelden-Ford, Dusti Gleason, Derricka Gleason, Emma Ford, Connor DuBose and Carson DuBose. He also has 10 great-grandchildren.
Dale had a genuine curiosity about the world. He enjoyed traveling and camping. He was an avid reader and had a passion for family genealogy, enjoyed learning and studying U.S. Presidents, as well as Michigan History. Dale also enjoyed playing bingo, and singing in the choir at Arbor North Semi-Assisted Living Center, where he has resided for the past 14 years.
Anyone who Dale knows he enjoyed U of M football and had a love for the Detroit Tigers, never missing a game. Dale spent a lifetime teaching lessons, and his influence will continue for generations to come. His lessons will be remembered, his laughter will be missed, and his smile will never be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
A private burial will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
