Andrew L. Nichol

Andrew L. Nichol, of Waterloo Twp., MI, passed away earlier this week. He was 63 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcia and Robert Nichol. Andrew is survived by the mother of his children, Jody Klink-Nichol; his children, Tony (Jane) and Annie Nichol; his brother, Sam (Leslie) Nichol, brother-in-law, Jeff (Kim) Klink, niece and nephews, Jonah and Elle Nichol, Daniel (Hannah) and Matthew Klink; stepmother, Phyllis Bock; aunt, Lynn Boukalik; and cousins, Will, Brian, and James Boukalik.

Andrew was born in New York City, NY, on July 26th, 1963, to Robert and Marcia (Boukalik) Nichol. While attending Manhattan Country Day, he was selected to be on the first season of Sesame Street. In 1976, his family relocated from Manhattan to Hartland, MI, where he played basketball, tennis, and ran cross country. He attended the University of Michigan and became a chef in Ann Arbor, MI. Later, he spent years in Santa Barbara, CA, catering many extravagant weddings and events, before returning home to Michigan to have a family.

Andrew knew his way around the kitchen, knowing how to elevate even the simplest meals. He loved deer hunting, fishing, classic movies, Westerns, and visiting his family’s lake house in Eagle River, WI.

Andrew will be very missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Post 31, 1700 Ridge Rd, Chelsea, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a luncheon to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 31.
