Norbert Breinig

Norbert Breinig, age 78, of Dexter, MI, passed away on November 1, 2025, at WellBridge of Pinckney.

He was born on September 8, 1947, in Frankfurt, Germany, the son of William and Elizabeth (Bauer) Breinig. Norbert came to the United States in 1953 and graduated from Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. In his youth, he enjoyed playing hockey.

Norbert moved his family and business from Ann Arbor to Dexter in 1977. Norbert founded Country Lane Landscaping and Maintenance LLC over 54 years ago. He took pride in his work and cherished the relationships he built with his customers. He enjoyed long chats with his friends and customers. His legacy will live on as his three children and grandchildren continue to manage and work for the company.

Norbert had a deep love of nature, landscaping, and animals. He possessed a remarkable talent for operating heavy machinery, especially skid loaders and excavators. Most of all, his family was his pride and joy. He was a devoted son, father, and grandfather, who instilled the values of hard work and the importance of family. He was kind hearted, generous, and someone you could count on in time of need. He was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Norbert is survived by his children, Leah (Jason) Wylie and Alison (Dan) Schneider, both of Dexter, and Norbert Nathan Breinig of Ann Arbor; also five grandchildren, Cooper, Addy, Reid, Heidi, and Clara. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A special thank you to WellBridge of Pinckney for their loving care this past year.
