Joanne Hoover

Joanne Hoover, age 78, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at her home in Henrietta Township, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Joanne was born on April 2, 1948, in Stockbridge, Michigan, the daughter of Seldon and Goldie Wireman. Raised in a large family alongside seven siblings, she lived in the area throughout her life. On May 13, 1966, Joanne married the love of her life, Charles D. Hoover. This year, they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Charles was her devoted partner, and the love they shared was the foundation of the life they created together. Above all else, Joanne loved her family. She was a devoted mother whose children were always close to her heart, and she took immeasurable pride in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Time spent with them was one of her greatest joys, and she spoke of them often, eager to share their stories and accomplishments. The love she gave so freely will remain her greatest legacy.

Joanne was a wonderful cook, and the meals she prepared were another way she brought her family together. She also enjoyed taking walks, listening to country music, and simply being in the company of those she loved.

Joanne is survived by her beloved husband, Charles; her two children, Missy (Andy Volansky) Hoover of Jackson and Charlie (Cindy) Hoover of Munith; four grandchildren, Ashley (Ryan) Rogers, Kelsey Fowler, Bryanna (Steven Vanepps) Hoover, and Bryttani (Clayton Lewin) Hoover; nine great-grandchildren: Brayden, Malakai, Kobe, Levi, Charlotte, Jax, Bronson, Colton, and Ava; and four sisters: Thelma Burchett of Jackson, Bertha Hunter of Munith, Barbara Brown of Jackson, and Debbie (Ronnie) McElwain of Clark Lake. She is also survived by Katrina Hoover, who remained a cherished and special part of the family, and Danny Fowler, who remained dear to Joanne and held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Wendell Wireman, Michael Wireman, and Brian Wireman, as well as two infant brothers.
