Jane W. Marz, age 90, of Jackson, formerly of Stockbridge, MI, passed away on July 6, 2026 at Brightside Assisted Living and Memory Care in Jackson, MI. She was born on October 12, 1935 in Stockbridge, MI, the daughter of Wendell and Vera (Hurst) Barber.
Jane was a lifelong Stockbridge resident. She grew up in Stockbridge, one of four children, and graduated from Stockbridge High School. She worked for D & C Stores for many years. On June 19, 1976, she married Ralph A. Marz and they enjoyed 22 years of marriage before his passing on December 23, 1998. Jane was a member of the Hiawatha Club. She enjoyed golfing, hunting, playing card games and Dominoes, and cooking for family and friends.
Jane is survived by two children, Kenneth (Vickie) Marz of Connecticut, and Laura (David) Gallaway of Pleasant Lake, MI; three grandchildren, Diana (Brian) Fediuk, Robert (Samantha) Marz, and Amanda (Hunter) Gallaway; and two great-grandchildren, Miley and Ross. In addition to her husband Ralph, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings: Joan Lynde, Mary Barber, and William Barber.
Visitation will be held at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home on Friday, July 10, 2026 from 4-7 p.m., and on Saturday, July 11, 2026 from 10-11 a.m.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge, MI.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Stockbridge Area Emergency Services Authority (SAESA).
